Slide text
  1. Why Schoolview makes sense for Indiana Wes Bruce Indiana DOE wbruce@doe.in.gov
  2. Indiana Introduced SGPs in 2009 • Second/third state to adopt • Once the decision was made the deadline became yesterday • Display was built in-house • Used existing tools and displays that Indiana already had available • Very serious flattery of Colorado – I mean really really flattering!
  3. Indiana Display 2009
  4. Indiana Display Today
  5. Indiana’s Motivation • Support is all in house • Quick design and build means little flexibility • Functional by not elegant design • Any change must compete for scarce resources • Many changes requested – few implemented • No stats is an Island (not even Indiana!)
  6. Why Collaborate • Take advantage of the best display – A display that is customizable – Allows you to turn on and off features – Provides amazing level of control and depth • Take advantage of what others have learned – Different uses and needs in other states produce displays never thought of in Indiana but immediately useful • Able to evolve!
