Office of Educational Assessment and Accountability (OEAA)
The MDE office responsible for Michigan’s statewide assessment and accountability systems. Director: Andrew Middlestead.
Owns four of the five sessions at April 23–24, 2026 TAC Meeting and is the addressee of most of the committee’s recommendations. Its accountability unit runs the growth model (Michigan Growth Model); its psychometric staff run the subscore work (M-STEP Subscore Reporting); its assessment staff run interim adoption (Smarter Balanced Interim Adoption).
OEAA is the client for this TAC. The purpose of the three-times-yearly meeting is for OEAA staff and its vendors to bring issues to the committee and receive advice.
