WIDA
The consortium behind the ACCESS English language proficiency assessment and its associated screeners, used in Michigan for English learner identification and progress measurement.
Two operational items were reported at April 23–24, 2026 TAC Meeting — the release of the WIDA Alternate Screener for students with significant cognitive disabilities, and a second year of the extended 10-week ACCESS testing window. See WIDA Assessment Operations.
WIDA ACCESS also carries growth targets in Michigan, computed by quantile regression through the R SGP package (Michigan Growth Model), and is covered by the Nearest Grade Average Method proposal in grades 6–8 for alignment checks and grades 10–12 for impact evaluation.
