Ask Smarter Balanced whether interim reports can carry the M-STEP score
The advice. Find out how much the Smarter Balanced interim reports can be modified, and whether the corresponding M-STEP score can be inserted into them.
Why. This is the highest-leverage item from Session 1. Every other concordance recommendation improves a document that educators must find, read, and apply correctly. If the interim report itself carried the concordant M-STEP score, the document would not be needed — the number would appear where the teacher is already looking, at the moment they are looking.
Blocker. The answer belongs to Smarter Balanced, not to OEAA. The question was identified in the room as one for the consortium and there is no record of it having been asked.
Status. Open. Owner: OEAA to raise with Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.
